Term Time Absence

You may have heard that the DfE has taken advice over requests for term time absence. They have accepted the guidance of the National Association of Headteachers NAHT, which has been attached to our website. You will find, however, that it is not especially different to the practice that has been in place at Chaddlewood since the new regulations came into force in September 2013.

Unless there are exceptional circumstances for requesting a term time absence, we are unable to authorise this. A list of possible exceptional circumstances is available here.
Children having ten school sessions of unauthorised absence may lead to parents being fined. Currently (Oct 2014) this amounts to £60 per child per parent, which increases with non-payment.
