Closure Letter 1.2.21

1st February 2021

1.2.21

Dear Parent/Carer,

Thank you all for your swift response in collecting your child today, following the gas leak outside of the school gate. I have just had a meeting with the onsite manager for Wales and West Utilities and he has confirmed that they will work through the night to ensure it is resolved. However, he has confirmed that although they hope to have the leak fixed, Foundation and Key Stage 1 will need to remain closed as further tests need to be conducted throughout the day to ensure no gas is coming into that part of the school.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the current bubbles, we are unable to accommodate the children anywhere else. This does not affect the POSE children who are down to come into Key stage Two tomorrow (2.2.21). We have been assured this area remains safe.

We have not taken this decision lightly. I hope it does not cause too much inconvenience for you, but as always, your child's safety remains paramount.

I will update you as and when I can tomorrow, but the hope is we will be back to normal on Wednesday.

Kind regards,

 Matt Stace
